a geologist’s hammer

a falcon’s feather

together

David Scott, astronaut,1971

conducting his experiment on the moon

while Galileo Galilei hovers over his shoulder

swooping for the kill

(the redemption of his persistence)

smiling broadly as they land

on the lunar surface in unison

for air

without resistance.
